Stories of Basel’s Old Town / 15.30 h (60-75 min) / 3 groups à 20 participants
Join us on a journey back through the ages. There can be few other cityscapes where buildings dating back as far as the fifteenth century engage so harmoniously and vibrantly with the contemporary creations of internationally distinguished architects. On our tour, we'll tell you facts and anecdotes about Basel and the background to its development while passing historic buildings such as the Town Hall, the Basel Cathedral (Münster) and the Barfüsserkirche. We'll also explain a lot about the city's present situation. As well as taking you to some picturesque corners of the Old Town, we'll show you places that closely reflect Basel's present-day Zeitgeist, such as the Museum der Kulturen and the Tinguely fountain.
Novartis Campus / 15.30 h (60-75 min) / limited to 20 participants

The project benefits the company, its employees and the city of Basel, which has been the home base of Novartis for more than 20 years. Discover this place of innovation and research with us. You have the opportunity to hear about the history and work philosophy of the campus on selected Saturdays and to see the office and laboratory buildings from the outside, with expert guidance around the facility by Novartis employees. This tour along the site's principal axis includes numerous buildings by architects such as Diener & Diener, Sejima & Nishizawa (SANAA), Frank O. Gehry, David Chipperfield, Tadao Ando and others as well as various artworks and green areas. Novartis donates the majority of the proceeds to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
